Now that 2021 has well and truly set off, let me ask you: Have you set your objectives yet?
Even in a start-up or a small team, it’s a very good idea to stop for a moment, and think about what you want to achieve this year. What goal, what milestone you want to reach with your team. What you want every team member to accomplish this year.
And of course, when you start thinking about this, you need to have your mission and long term goals clear, first. Because you want to be moving in the right direction, the direction of those long term goals, fulfilling your mission.
I find this whole process extremely interesting and insightful. Not only for the teams I work with, but also for me as a coach. To see the drive and sense of purpose it gives people, is really fulfilling.
But of course, the real challenge is then for people actually reaching these goals, giving them a sense of accomplishment. And you as an employer, will have reached the company goals ánd have more motivated, accountable people. Because people taking ownership, that’s what it’s all about.
